For my latest trick I turned on the trackback feature on my blog. I'm not entirely sure what it is and how it works (MoveableType had rather cryptic documentation on the subject) or that I've got it all set up right, but I think it's a(n automatic) way of listing on my blog any other blogs that link back to mine. So I can now very easily and conveniently see ... just how little influence I have in the blogging world. But in case fame occurs, I'll be ready.

Doesn't seem like it's working, or at least it doesn't seem to work with Blogger. Since, as you can see, I linked to your site.

Did you set it to ping the special Trackback URL? (why it has to have a separate one is beyond me... doesn't seem particularly useful, and more work for the linker)
It's http://www.cathygellis.com/mt/cgi-bin/mt-tb.cgi/22

So, that's the link I use for linking to an article I want to trackback? It's saying that that "xml file doesn't seem to have any style information associated with it."

I don't think it's a link you can look at directly. It's the link that your blog software should send a trackback ping to.
At least I think. This is all still digital alchemy to me.
