Friday of only some doom?

Read the earlier posts in the saga...

The registrar just emailed to say that grades were posted, except for a list of 17 courses whose grades were still "outstanding." (Now there's a deceptive choice of words...)

Three of them happen to be for courses I was in. And may very likely be the ones with the better grades. So now I get to decide if I want to potentially ruin my day by looking at the three grades that have been posted now, or wait until the others dribble in.

I did actually attempt to look them up on the web just now, but kept mistyping my password. I take that as a sign to leave them be for a while.

In the meantime, for perspective, there's always this.

Seems to me that if you already got outstanding grades for three of your classes, then it can't be too much pain to check out the other two.

After all, worst thing that could happen is that you would end up with an outstanding-minus average.

Sorry-- lame attempt at humor that probably wouldn't make sense to someone who goes to a school where they give normal letter grades (Boalt had a pass, honors, high honors system).

What I was saying is that outstanding sounds like a really good grade, so if you got an O (for outstanding) in three classes, then even bad grades in the other two classes couldn't really hurt you that bad, leaving you with an O-minus average.

Does this make much sense? No...
